Time Doesn't Last

That last summer was a right of passage,
It was one that brought two friends together.
Where it all started with a text message,
And they thought they would last forever.

However many problems came into play,
And feelings for each other got misplaced.
People were against them and blocked their way,
In the end their love was to be disgraced.

She always thought that she could wait for him,
And he thought they would never be apart.
Every chance of making it were slim,
It wasn't long before he broke her heart.

Thought they had it all but summer has past,
It's time to move on cause time doesn't last.
