Time Framed

Framed
by dirty window pane
Embellished by dust and mold
Ornately crafted by the hands
Of the master weaver,
Silk lace, fragile, beaded
With droplets of dew
Mounted upon
Aged wood from old
Its grandeur, a subtle shade
Its sceptre, a withering chimney
And its crown, riddled with holes.

Framed
By the tides of time
A forgotten kingdom
Realm of a princess now grown

Cracked plastic,
pink paint chipped
Ruins from the battle against time
Barbie Queen fallen,
laid bare, forgotten
Young Princess,
a refugee in the real world
Her pink kingdom,
a groove in her childhood
Now memorialized by throws of ivy
Commemorated by tangles of Spanish moss
Reminisced by restless soul
