Time is a Friend of Mine
Time is a friend of mine. No matter where I go there He is keeping me on the clock. I go in circles and take a few breaks but never does Time leave me. Following me everywhere I go. He followed me to the backyard, the sea shore and the river lights. Never does He leave me. Time is a friend of mine. Days turned to months and months into years and here I am close enough to walking the stage but far enough to catch the view in front of me.
There is Time, standing in front of me with His hands out telling me that as I'm growing so are those around me. There goes my mother making me breakfast with that smile on her face and there goes my father with his keys in his hand ready to get to work. I can feel my brothers laughter from miles away. Time never left us. No matter where we went.
Time is a friend of mine. He's given me a childhood filled with colorful photographs and heartbreaks that have been healed with His wisdom. He's gifted me people who I believe are made of gold. He's watched the sunrise before I did and put the stars to light up the sky. Constantly keep me on the clock. Time is all I have. Time is a friend of mine.
