Time is a Harsh Progression

Time is a harsh progression

It leads on for sake of change

Each second, minute, hour

Presses us to the point of asking it to stay

O, Consistency! O, To stay the same!

Ragged moments and battered years

Waining with our cruel descent

And towards Death

Always towards Death

A watch's hands have stolen my gaze

Like a carousel with movements

And movements,

And change,

And movements,

And change,

And I gaze for sake of stagnancy

How I wish to stay the same

My silence bodes the clock farewell

From the deep desires of my soul

To stay inside one moment-

One fraction of time that makes me smile!

But this carousel continues on

Spinning around the death of us-

The death inside our bones

Weaving through temporal ties

The framework of the unknown
