Time lapse Horizon

Bubble bath, breath easy

Now speakeasy child

Seven year old

arms outstretched

follow the leaves like a dog follows its tail

Chase the eagle winged wind through the trees

Arrow shot feet stealthy

following your dreams

Twelve year old child

I want to be fire

Devouring all that's befor me

Slurping the leaves off the trees

staining them red and orange and yellow

before they turn to ash

today fall comes early

Fourteen year old child

Lap me up wolf wind

whistling wind

Howling whispering vicious wind

cradle me

as I fall asleep to your music

shut out my doubt

turn it away and close the door

Fifteen year old child

can you feel the wind on your face again

It is not cold now

Growing roots warm fingers follow suit

as tulips rise to greet you

sink your feet into the warmth of budding soil

Seventeen year old child

Listen to the wind

Like an old record player, it repeats

Photographs of birthdays, of weddings, of halloween

but who you’ve become is here

the wind has watched with the eyes of the trees

and none knows better who you have become
