Time Is My Enemy

Your pain never felt so real, it never felt so alive. I've been stuck in the middle of hell, and your face is all I see. Just fill my heart with fire and hate, mental breakdowns, and suicidal thoughts. Broken emotions and frozen tears. Used to the pain, mended and torn. Promises broken, left empty; there's nothing left to shatter. Mind blown; hands shaking. There's something wrong with me. Eyes glassy; heart tense. Scared to let in another reckless soul. This is just a test, just a simple quest. Kill time just a little bit faster, and baby, I swear we'll make it.

Hello briannameyer14, I'm glad I got to read "Time is my Enemy." The brevity of your poem helped it really pack a punch. I also enjoyed the focus on anguish and having resolution in the face of self-doubt. I hope you'll write more soon!
