As Time Passes
Eyes meet.
Words exchanged.
Smiles shared.
Hands accidentally touch.
Butterflies flutter nervously.
First kiss. Second Kiss. Third Kiss.
All the kisses add up.
They add up from the dates,
From careless arguments,
From moments when you just need someone there,
And even from moments when there's nothing better to do but kiss.
Time is all it takes to find these treasures.
But time is all it takes for these treasures to slip away.
First fight. Second fight. Third fight.
All the fights add up.
They add up from not going on anymore dates,
From previous arguments,
From moments when you just need someone to fight with,
And even from moments when there's nothing better to do but fight.
Butterflies flutter away.
Hands don't touch.
Smiles vanish.
Words are shared silently.
Eyes no longer meet.
