as Time passes by

I stare at the people around me

Truly look at them

As though I can finally see

How did this happen?

We are so different than we were,

Yet nothing has changed

And my best friend, I look at her

And see how grown she is

I look at the year books and find

These people I’ve known my whole life

Changed in my eyes, same in my mind

The years have passed me by

Am I really so blind?
