Time Rumba
As time passes my heart begins to beat
A slow and steady rumba
In contrast to the lead in my feet
Each ticking of the clock
Each roar within my veins
Grows and grows and grows
To what can only be called pain
The tempo quickens
My breath comes in gasps
But nothing has changed
As I let time by me pass.
