Time To Say Goodbye

I treated that Saturday morning just as every other Did pliés, relevés and grand jetés But the time had come to say goodbye That unusual Monday night when I got the call, I didn't believe that it was true, as if I thought he'd live forever I asked myself, "How could this happen? Are they playing a trick on me?" That moment in time when I heard the words and believed them Time stopped and all I could do was cry and ask God "why?" I didn't think I could ever feel worse than I did then But the feeling grew each second, In the moment when we buried him and at the first performance without him But the worst moment of all was when I walked in that place again Everything was where it normally was but it didn't feel right-- He wasn't there And in that moment, I learned that in life there is a time to say goodbye to everyone, even if you're not expecting it
