Time Will Heal
When spoken of,
no more do i cringe, no more do I hurt;
I don't say a thing, not a bad word.
Just a neutral feeling comes across me,
wishing I could play it for the world to see
the emotional road toward you had become a dead end.
Although in the beginning it was a time well spent,
but eventually became a wasted existence.
Every word and action followed by repentance.
Bliss soon became a downhill spiral.
A cut became infectiously viral.
"Time will heal" is all so true,
as if my heart was an open wound.
As if t-cells not only mends a cut or bruise then,
but now also aids every emotive contusion.
Helping to heal a shattered heart
like any injury I waited as time takes part.
I must admit the clock is, in itself, therapy.
And now thoughts of you run ever so rarely.
The big hand holds every painful load
while it is my heart and mind the little hand holds.
I will confess that I am not the strongest person to fall
and to get back up it takes my all.
With every second working to take the loads off my shoulders
and every minute helping to hold away the boulders.
I conceive now that time is very much on my side.
And this moment on from every downfall I will not hide.
I now know my moving on is a sign of maturity,
a sign of a new thing, a sign of purity.
And with something new I begin a clean slate.
Good or bad, time will tell and I must wait.
