Time of Your Life

A slender body that's lost too much weight

fills up little space with her alcohol breath.

Somehow I feel I've failed her,

as she looks at me with her deep brown eyes.

That radiant smile now rots with "fucking"

and I can't bear to be around it.

Those big bouncy curls hide the change in her face but I see it.

She's become more of a ghost on a sinking ship.

Each time I try to grab her hand and pull her to the surface,

I slip right through.

I'm holding back hoping she'll get through.

She can pretend all she wants but I know,

With each trainwreck she throws herself into.

I hope you're having the time of your life.
