Timeless Distance

I try not to count
The months,
Hours,
Days,
Minutes,
Leading up to that day.
To the moment it will all end.
I try,
Honestly...i do,
But I can't help it.
How can I not think about all that I will miss?
The one, serendipitous,
Good thing
That appeared in my life?
And so I think,
And I think,
And I think.
And I try to picture good outcomes...
Maybe you'll still try
Or maybe you'll come back.
But the bad always seem to win.
And so,
On that day,
5 months,
2 hours,
20 days,
And 13 minutes away
I will kiss your mouth,
Wish you the best,
Cry,
And try to count
The months,
Hours,
Days,
Minutes,
Until I may see you again.
