A timeline of lifelines

1. In the great green room with the yellow furniture and orange carpet

I was sent sweet dreams by an insomniac bunny.

2. Two fish, no one or was it three...

Counting gave me pause

to appreciate everyone even if they may come in different

sizes

shapes

colors.

Different than me

and yet have compassion enough

to NOT treat them any differently.

7. That spindly, tall, loaf of bread with the furrowed unibrow and an ankle that sees

who explained the death of a dear one

when life seemed far too difficult and unfortunate to continue.

9 1/3. The famous, round-rimmed spectacles, unkept hair and magical

realization that depression and the dementors within us

are combated with love and friendship

and help from others.

16. The tolerable, but not handsome enough to tempt,

professor of womanly strength and intelligence,

spittingly sarcastic sister of five

who could love and recieve love

despite what she looked like.

17. The believer of that orgastic, emerald and elusive light

that prompts us to stay up through sleepless nights in

hope

of one fine morning.

23. The discipline and strength required to reach the arrow

the job

the goal

the world

and the woman who wasn't man enough

and yet saved us all.
