Times Like These

In times like these I would close my eyes in hopelessness,

Seeing a window of opportunity closing.

Life would be worthless if it wasn’t worth living.

Then I catch a breath of air to live in the moment.

My future is so close but yet so far away.

In the darkest of times I learn to smile.

When a needle pricks my heart I am touched with sorrow.

The wall closing in around me,

Making me panic, making me go crazy.

But this could turn out like chocolate as sweet as it sounds.

So my skies of grey turn a beautiful blue.

I power off my cell phone to give my mind a break, to clearly see.

And to give life a touch of purple, the color of piece.

But the world wouldn’t go round if it wasn’t for times like these.
