tinsel finds mother

Just watch as the tinsel finds mother’s ears

The gold plastic ribbons begin to grow round her fingers and neck

She pulls them closer slurping up the tinsel like ink

Slipping around in her mouth and down inside of her

I want to save this caring creature, this velvet cradle

I hiss I twitch but never do I

touch mother

·

Her visible skin is outlined and carved

By the wind she’s seen and self inflicted

What can I do for her? A deserved lover

Possessed with an unselfish beauty

I cannot rescue her with my tapered spine

Mother’s spine is thick and strong, it is shining

Illuminating the room with reflected gold flecks

With lightning

·

I close my eyes because it hurts to look

Brain waves by the hundreds

I rub my head because I know her aches

Though her back is strong I can hear it breaking

Nowhere to go. Fumbling darkness

gold turned red through these thick lids.

·

She squirms and spins

Tongue tacked to the top of her mouth

Shhhh mother

The potentials are endless but your gasp is leather

·

I wish to bathe you

But these strands are immune to tap water

Don’t trust this mind’s stream. Embody

Love thrust through

Pure water seeps through bubbling plaster

We are surrounded but not empty

The water holds mother but does not penetrate her

Let go. Mother let’s go.
