Tiny Hands
From the moment I saw you,
eyes shut and pink lips pursed.
From the moment I heard you,
scream and cry.
From the moment I held you,
your warmth and innocence in my arms.
I knew that no matter what happened,
I would be your protector, standing by you with my fists ready.
I knew that no matter what happened,
I would be your best friend, your shoulder to cry on.
I knew that no matter what happened,
I would be there for you, to help you get back up.
Because I love you,
unconditionally.
Because I love you,
to the moon and back.
Because I loved you,
from the moment I touched your tiny hands.
