Tired of Drowning

Location

You push me

to be

someone you see

me being.

You want your dreams

to be my dreams.

You want me to be perfect.

But I'm not.

In my head, I scream.

I'm tired.

Of it all.

I just want to give up.

On life, on the future.

I'm done, I'm drowning.

What can I do

to make you see

that I just want to be me?

I try, so very hard

to fit your mold.

But how can I ever

live up to your standards?

All I want

is to take a deep breath.

Fresh air

to fill my lungs.

To be myself,

to be heard.
