Tired of Time

I’m tired of the rules

shoving my thoughts deep into a corner

I’m tired of the lacking spirit

convincing me to wait just one more day

I’m tired of the mundane

clouding my mind, blurring weeks together

I’m tired of the pain

struggling to please all those around me

I know these aches will dissipate someday…

Someday.

When we live for instant gratification

Do we have time for ‘someday’?

I want a future now.

I want a doctorate from a great college

I want a high paying job, six figures at least

I want a beautiful wife, to talk to at night

I want two girls, to give them the world

I want my fantasies, and I want them to work

I want a future now…

…but we don’t even have time to think about that.

As much as we want to skip the rules, the lethargy, the ordinary, and the pain

We cannot win the race against time.

I waste my own in writing this

suffering from aforementioned problems

But in allying with the opposition,

I will suffer through

To see the future come to fruition.
