'Tis a Matter of Time
Fast, whips the wind in a spiral, a gust,
Cold, the cracked concrete, the leaves colored rust.
Hidden, the sun has turned in for the night,
Soon the whole town'll be covered in white,
'Tis only a matter of time.
For the days to pass and months to come,
The ancient tales and songs once sung,
'Till we find life's seed within the earth,
And experience our own rebirth,
'Tis only a matter of time.
Out of the mindset we couldn't release,
Into a balance, a world that agrees,
Away from the hardships, the struggles we saw,
Forgetting the chaos of rise and fall,
'Tis only a matter of time.
'Till we leap from the chains of oppression and strife,
And bound o'er the plains teeming with life,
To run with gazelles in triumphant stampede,
To furrow putrefied lives and plant in them new seed,
Indeed, 'tis a matter of time.
To learn the world's troubles and make them your own,
To assemble a quilt, into which your heart is sewn,
And cover the earth with its warmth and light,
We'll find a place of silent refuge throughout the night,
'Tis only a matter of time.
With caution and strength we'll elude our demise.
To erase the desire to attack those we despise,
And come together one unified force,
We'll tackle our problems and chart a new course,
'Tis only a matter of time.
Fast, whips the wind in a spiral, a gust,
Cold, the cracked concrete, the leaves colored rust.
Alive, with change will our spirits emerge,
And create a drive within us, a powerful surge.
Out of the mindset we couldn't release,
Into a balance, a world that agrees,
Deep from the depths our emotions will climb,
A resounding roar, and we shall find,
A life that most have left behind,
'Tis only a matter of time.
