Title in Progress

Lenny never meant it

But he kept it in his heart

And threw it around his back

He's got his hands in his pocket

And his leather studded jacket

In the backseat of his Cadillac

He used to drive around town

With a roaming gaze

And a cold bottle in his hand

But when he hung his head to cry

And he was left to die

This is what he sang

He sang roll up your sleeves boys

And put on your best shirt

For you're homeward bound

Strum on your guitar

Find a burned out car

Roll the windows down

Rosie found it simple

That she never had to think about

Where she'd have to go

But sometimes when she found

No one else was around

She'd kick off her shoes and go

She'd sing roll up your sleeves boys

And put on your best shirt

For you're homeward bound

Strum on guitar

You'll be a movie star

Roll  the windows down

Now Lenny works the line

And he says it pays in time

But it doesn't leave a dime too much

Well he goes out every night

But there's no twinkle in his eye

Cause it takes all of him to play it tough

Rosie married rich

And I guess she'll never switch

From her love that's buried in the dust

Her husband's hands are cold

And she's got time to hold

To try and make it through the night

They sing roll up your sleeves boys

And put on your best shirt

For you're homeward bound

Strum on your guitar

It's not all that far

Roll the windows down
