To Love Hard is to Fear Hard

Love to me is scary; I call it fake. It is built on the shadows of the past, I know. Yet, I love to write about love; I love to watch it on the screen. I sing the songs it makes me feel. But actually falling? That is a different game. It scares me so much; it makes my stomach ache. To hand over your heart is to hand over the key. It makes you a fool, or so it seems to me. I hope one day that changes, but in this day and age? I doubt the right one finds me when I am not on stage. First, I must healFrom the things that hurt. If I jump in too fast, I lose myself in the dirt. I need to know who I am; I do not want to be blind. I will not throw it all away or leave my family behind. I want a love that is healthy, A bond that is real. I need to learn how to let people show me how they feel.
