To The Man Who Will Call Me Wife

Somewhere beneath this same sky, You are breathing without knowing there is a woman learning how to love you before she has ever learned the sound of your voice. I don't know your name. I don't know the shape of your hands, the scars you've hidden, or the prayers you've whispered when no one else was listening. But I wonder... Have you ever stood in the middle of a crowded room and still felt alone? Have you ever questioned whether God had forgotten to write your love story? Because I have. There were nights I mistook loneliness for a life sentence. I gave pieces of myself to people who only knew how to admire broken things, never how to help put them back together. Still... I never let disappointment teach me to stop believing. Instead, it taught me to become the woman I pray you deserve. Not perfect. Not without scars. Not untouched by grief. Just honest. The woman you'll meet has survived storms you may never fully understand. She has cried herself to sleep, questioned her worth, rebuilt herself more times than she can count, and Still... she chose softness over bitterness. If love has wounded you too, know this— I will never ask you to pretend. Bring me the parts of yourself the world convinced you were too difficult to love. Bring me your fears, your silence, your healing, your laughter, your imperfect humanity. I'll meet you there. Because I don't want the version of you that everyone applauds. I want the man who still believes he has to apologize for taking up space. I'll spend a lifetime showing him he never had to. And when the day comes that you stand before me and promise forever, know this— I won't be crying because I finally found love. I'll be crying because after everything life tried to convince us we would never become... We found home in another heartbeat. Until then, I'll keep writing. Maybe every poem has been a letter traveling toward you. Maybe every unanswered prayer was simply making room for your answer. So wherever you are, Be patient with your becoming. I'm learning mine too. And when our paths finally cross, I hope you recognize me— not by my face... But by the way my soul says, "There you are. I've been writing to you for years."
