To The One

Well, um... I still call you out, but strange sorrow has befallen me, for you sit right behind me, but my words only succeed in reaching my own ears, and whatever I speak reaches neither you nor our lost future. While to make it simple, babe: Our worlds still sit side by side, but between them lives the distance we once called closeness. I'm sorry, but: I was never the monster— until sorrow smothered the softness in my breath, and betrayals learned the art of breaking my callow heart. Now I remain with fragments that were never meant to be mine. And all that was once mine lingers in memory, never in heart... Oh, to love! And oh, to be loved!
