Today, I woke up

Brushed my hair, brushed my teeth,

and put on my newest sweater.

Today, I woke up

Instantly thought of last night,

how I could not fall asleep no matter how hard I tried.

Today, I woke up

and lived in yesterday's past,

an overall sunny day except for the dark storm clouds gathering.

Today, I woke up

living in the storm

but continued to go about my day.

Today, I woke up

in tonight's hurricane,

lost another night of sleep.

Today, I woke up

and it was tomorrow.

The clouds were clear again but I knew it would be back.

Today, I woke up

Brushed my hair, brushed my teeth,

and put on my newest sweater.
