Today, 27 bodies now lay in black plastic bags

Lay cold-faced, no expression

No more taste of their mothers cookies

during Christmas time

No more sight of the smiles of the people they love

No more smell of the poperee on the dinning room table

No more hearing the sound of laughter filling the room

while their grandfather makes jokes about the good old days

they Stopped recognizing the touch of wind kissing their cheeks

Time has now Paused for them

18 of them were children

Children that will NEVER be able to grow

No more playing in the sandbox with their best friend

No more tag on the play ground

No more monkeying around on the bars

No more falling off and getting scars

Children that will never be able:

to jump, to play, to hug, to talk, to learn to read, to learn to

STAY STILL IN A SEAT!

Dont WE Sometimes feel Discontent with life?

with love? with the thought that

there is a parent out there that will Never

pick up their child from school again!

a Parent that will Never hear their children say "I love you"

to have their little arms wraped around them after

a hard days work

to have the hurt in their heart

that their child's picture now becomes a dusty attic photograph

the Parent that has now been demoted to being just a wife, a husband, a woman and a man

KNOWING that their baby's head was blasted in half!

Dont WE sometimes feel discontent with life?

with compassion? to not imagine this happening

at an elemetry school in Connecticut

to children who have become news to the world

but were already everything to their families

So DONT tell me you dont have the audacity

to not have compassion

Today, 27 bodies now lay in grave sites Not built for them

not being able to breathe

not being able to do anything

Dont WE someimtes feel discontent with life?
