Today, I am beautiful
How my generation loves to give themselves two faces, when they were designated to one. And I, myself, am apart of it. But how sad it is to see, that for being myself and being able to embrace who I truly am, can be hated on. I tend to follow the flow of the sea full of fishes, following the trend and setting beauty and everything that is "in" today, to be a pedestal in my life. Once I rub off the excess dirt as I come back home, I look in the mirror and begin to see the blemishes and scars that my face has. I notice my eyes seem smaller than they really are.
My hair starts to curl up after I wash away the chemicals, and notice the real damage. Then I start to realize, why does a single voice define who I am? Was I not made to be perfect? Oh, look at the intricacy I was made with by my creator! Its amazing at how beautiful my eyes look! I need no person to tell me otherwise. Look at these warm light brown eyes. The eyes that the person shall see me through and notice so much more than the physical. They are the portal to the hearts intentions and feelings. "Wake up and see that you have beauty!" I begin to plea. There is only one of me in the entire world. There will be people who are more talented, more athletic, and more smarter. But Grace is within me.
I am shy, and it may not draw many people to me, but once the barrier is broken between me and a person, oh how their face is lit up with happiness! I am strange, but laughter is only brought forth from it. I get angry, but it only shows that i can defend myself and other matters. I am sensitive; I may cry for unnecessary reasons, or even at the wrong times, but it shows the love and tenderness in me. As much as I would love to get rid of these things, and fix everything about myself, but it is for a reason im like this, and feel these certain emotions. For without these qualities, I would not be known for who I am today. Because today, I feel beautiful for a change. Not even a filter will help.
