Today I had a talk...

Today I had a talk.. Today I had a talk with the class chain smoker. He was very nice and polite. I always hear him coughing from where he sits in the back of class. His cough is always deep and raspy, thick and painful to hear. His voice is still soft and calming though it has deepened over the years. I asked about his parents, "do they know about this?" "I think so" he said, "though they disapprove they don't care enough to intervene." "Is it expensive?" I asked as I watched his soft expression. "For me," he replied "it's more expensive not to." Yes I learned a lot from the class chain smoker. He was very nice to me. I think we will be friends now though a smoker I will never be.
