Today I Opened My Eyes

Today I opened my eyes And I could suddenly see. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not blind. Well, in some ways I used to be. I have always seen stuff— You know Like road signs for directions Or books from which to study. But today I opened my eyes I couldn’t believe what I saw. I saw a purple flower Fighting against the wind Yet still standing tall. I saw a toddler laughing At the little things I once thought were amusing too. I saw Kindness Love Charity And Hope. But most importantly I saw myself As Great as God knows I am. And that, Friend, Made all the difference.
