Today, today, today

I know that sound,

it’s a voice that’s

hit the ground.

It bounced away,

away-away…

Today, today, today…

Ever been witness to,

someone disappearing from view?

They fade away,

away-away…

Today, today, today…

Ready to speak

those words,

those words

you’d never repeat?

They were sent away,

away-away…

Today, today, today…

A hug,

A kiss,

A tempting wrist?

It goes away,

away-away…

Today, today, today…

Choked to ecstasy

to catch your breath,

Gin soaked dress,

smells like death.

It floats away,

away-away…

Today, today, today…

That cushion there

it’s for your knees,

you closed your eyes

to look at me…

It drove away,

away-away…

The pain, today, today…
