You and I

You said you didn't want to talk

So I made you some cocoa

And sat with you in silence

You said you like to take long walks

So I bought some new shoes

And I walked with you

I said that I like rainy days

So you brought over a book

And you sat beside me reading

I said that I was okay

But you knew I was lying

And you hugged me till I was

I asked you to trust me

So you smiled at me

And you did

You asked me believe you

So I smiled at you

And I did

You didn't want me to turn off the lights

So I learned to sleep with them on

And when you were ready you told me

I got scared when you tried tickling me

So you stopped and apologized to me

And you listened while I told you

Because I love you...

Because you love me...

Nothing feels forced or fake

I know that you really care

We don't deserve each other

But I will spend my whole life

Knowing that who I am

Is already enough
