Together As One

You tore my heart to pieces Left it empty and broken You tried to fix it with lies and deceit I tried to heal it with bitter thoughts and words None of this helped but made it feel worse I tried friends and money All the joys of the world But none of this lasted They all faded away And there was me my heart torn and empty It seemed like everything I tried just tore my heart more Made me feel worse. Then I tried God, forgiveness, and love And there was my heart together as one But this time instead of fading away My heart was as if never broken before Sometimes I look back and see my torn and empty heart And get filled with hatred and more But then I remember I have forgiven And now I show love Because now it doesn’t matter Because... My heart is together as one
