Together We Must Stand

Hate ----- such a powerful word, With hate comes ignorance, And with ignorance comes discrimination. Discrimination is what my ancestors fought against. Those who came before me paved the way, And carried a torch that they passed into my hands. Now it is up to me to keep the flame burning. My ancestors, by the sweat of their brows And courage of their hearts, Made it possible for all races to join together as one. They stood before all and let their voices be heard Now we must join together and keep their dreams alive. We must hold the torch up high as a symbol of our freedom. Freedom from hate, discrimination, ignorance, and inequality. Together we must stand... To show them that their fight was worth it. Together we must stand... To show them the chains of racism have been broken. Together we must stand in unity and love Together we must stand.
