Together WE Will

In a world swayed by man,

How does a woman play her role?

It states that we’re all equal.

Yet all we sustain is coal.

We continue to persist

Because they told us no,

When they say it is just

We give the final blow

This pain has spread from long ago

To aid it I encountered Angelou

“Still I Rise,” she said so loud

“Still I Rise,” I say so proud

I’ll “dance like I’ve got diamonds”

I’ll keep my smile shinin’

Because she told me so,

“Still I Rise” will grow

Pass it on to other kin

It’s the only way to win.

We must carry our own up high

Before we share a collected sigh

Now instead of “Still I Rise”

We chant as one “Still We Rise”
