A Toiling Bee / Abu Karim

Having honey from flowers I have become stout, you see;

drawing the burden of life I have become tired, a toiling bee.

Different tastes are found in different flowers;

they set traps with their commodities of colors;

Being caught in such a trap, the color of my youth

has turned pale, and desire to fly for food has lost growth.

I have been still alive somehow in the empire

of the queen where my usefulness is about to expire.

New laborers are busy in entertaining the queen,

and I am only able to live tired and unseen.
