Tomorrow

Tomorrow you will be gone,

When I open my eyes the sun will not be peeking through my blinds;

Dark, thunderous clouds will cover up every trace of light.

The air will feel as empty as my mind,

No children will be playing outside,

Instead of laughter all I will here is a deafening silence,

You never were one to stay in one place for very long,

A free spirit, too wild to be tamed,

Meant to run free and explore this big world.

I always wished that when you spoke of all the adventures you wanted to go on,

You pictured me there with you.

I guess you were so caught up in your fantasies,

That you didn’t have time to stop and think of anyone else.

Tonight I feel loneliness returning to me and with that I know;

Tomorrow you will be gone.
