Tomorrow

In my Spanish class, we we're told to come up with what we thought cities in the future would be like.

This is what I came up with.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mi ciudad futurista será una sociedad distópica.
Habrá violencia, hambre, falta de hogar, y racismo.
La gente morirá cada día sin ninguna razón.
Brutalidad policial estará en su punto más alto.
El gobierno abusará de su poder.
La gente tendrá que trabajar duras, largas horas por poco dinero.
Sin embargo, discriminación hará que sea difícil encontrar trabajo.
A veces, trabajarán 70 horas de la semana,
pero todavía no podrán proveer para sus familias.
Habrá una sistema de clases.
Decidirá cuánto una persona podrá progresar en la vida.
Esta sistema se basará en la raza, el sexo, y la historia familiar.
Los medios controlarán nuestras percepciones.
Noticia no será noticia y hechos no serán hechos.
Opinión será hecho.
Ignorancia propagará como una enfermedad.
Democracia será una ilusión.
Nadie tendrá cariño al bienestar de otras.
Toda la gente hablará el mismo idioma,
pero no querrán comunicar.
El orgullo justificará el odio de otra gente.
Las prisiones estarán llenas de gente con convicciones
de drogas mientras que violadores recorrerán
los campuses de las Universidades.
Las estaciones empezarán convertirse más caliente.
No habrá un invierno.
El planeta comenzará a morir.
Habrán leyes que dictarán lo que una mujer puede hacer con su cuerpo.
Enfermedad mental será visto como un estigma
como resultado de ser excusa de asesinato.
Y finalmente, nadie admitirá que algo está mal.
Mañana empezará con hoy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Here I'll translate it to English.

 My future city is of a dystopian society.

There will be violence, hunger, homelessness, and racism.

People will die every day for no reason.

Police brutality will be at an all-time high.

The government will abuse its power.

People will have to work long, hard hours for little pay.

However, discrimination will make it difficult to find work.

Sometimes, the people will work more than 70 hours a week,

but still won’t be able to provide for their families.

There will be a class system.

It will decide how much a person can progress in life.

It will be based on race, sex, and family history.

The media will control our perceptions.

News won’t be news and facts won’t be facts.

Opinion will be fact.

Ignorance will spread like a disease.

Democracy will be an illusion.

No one will care about the wellbeing of others.

Everyone will speak the same language,

but will not want to communicate with one another.

Pride will justify hate.

Prisons will be full of people with drug convictions

while rapists are free to roam college campuses.

The seasons will become hotter.

There won’t be a winter.

The planet will begin to die.

There’ll be laws that dictate what a woman can do with her body.

Mental illness will be seen as a stigma

as a result of being an excuse for murder.

And finally,

no one will admit that anything is wrong.

Tomorrow will begin with today.
