Tony Montana

The sorrowful steam rises from my head

Bridgestones made from ticking fingers and questions

Walked me over to a furthering distance from my brother

And my coming towards only greatened it

DNA related stranger

I asked “how are my nieces and nephews”

“Bad but Good”

The irony in the juxtaposition

How are you

How old are they

A series of numbers, each followed by a comma

A few feet away can be the longest distance sometimes

Felt the conversation chasm widen, while it wasn’t going anywhere

That’s a language i think everyone can speak and recognize

Syntax Expectations are murdered by surprise

And it’s struggle

Characterized by

My struggle to fight back rivers that set their banks on my skin

After the truth lied in the next text u sent

Made reason claw at my back

The overflow of mixed titans

Only making the scars anchor drag

They opened up a three way conversation time between you, and myself

Maybe our lives did go separate ways cause ma’s death

We didn’t quite clean up the mess, as the adhesive got swept

Maybe that separation is part of what helped me to get here

You saying don’t look back for you after all this time I felt your back towards me

I wish that I could make it to the heavens and back just like you said

Because certain nights when I cried became my hell

But this five minute convo, turnt around my fears

u signed off off to bed

I spent the rest of the night realizing the driftan

The years had made us do,

Just for us to cross each other's’ path through

juxtaposition
