Too Late

The crimson red stained his fingertips..

His vision blurred as he stared at his hangs

He looked up to see his comrade

with a gaping hole in his chest.

Horror consumed his soul as he merely stared.

Shang did not know what he was doing.

He was back to back with his fellow comrade, Mulan

defeating the infidels with a sweep of his sword.

However, darkness consumed him as their battle was nearing the end.

He awoke to see his own sword impaled in his beloved comrade.

Desperately trying to save him,

Shang pressed his hands against his chest.

But his efforts were futile.

His comrade

His friend

His soulmate

She was dead
