Too Late

Dear Freshman Self,

Your high school years will not go

quite as you think.

Life was so simple before,

you had friends, great grades, free time,

and a family.

What more could you ask for?

But look at you now:

high school freshman unsure of

who she wants to be and

unaware

of all the struggles she will face.

But let me give you some advice.

Say yes to the sweet boy who will ask you out

by the soda machine.

He will become the best friend

you've ever known.

Don't forget to

hold on to what is good.

Life is often so full of

stress and upsets

that people forget to cherish

all it's little wonders.

Don't be afraid to fall in love.

It turns out the risk is worth

every ounce of joy.

And finally

always live in the moment.

Your teenage years will

fly by

but they are some of the

best you'll ever have.

You got this.

-Senior Self
