Too Many Times

In the door

At the desk, waiting, scheduling

Sitting. Waiting.

Tick, tick, tick goes the clock

The door opens and I jump to my feet

Casually stroll through the door

(I've done this many times before)

Another door appears before me.

Closed and opening.

Closed and opening.

Click as it closes.

Whoosh as it opens.

Sigh.

But a couch,

examining table,

chair,

awaits me.

Whoosh.

Click.

Kind greetings.

Hurried chatting.

Here it comes.

Question after question after question they come like tides.

Don't they know the answer to these questions?

Haven't I been here enough times for them to know?

Click click goes there key board.

Tap tap goes there fingers.

Wait...

Did I forget something?

Wait, wait I need to say something!

Wait, wait, wait...

That's not why I'm here.

That's not what's wrong with me!

Have I said too much?

Too little?

Does it matter?

There not listening...

There's other patients to see...

I'm just one name on your list that you didn't bother to remember..

Just a name.

Not a person.

Have a good day!

You too.

You too.
