Too Painful for a Title

As I write this,
tears form inside my eyes

my heart aches
I'm in pain
yet I'm numb

As I form this,
I remember
when we met

As I type this,
I remember
the last time
I saw you

As the tears
try to escape
I remind myself
of my promise

to never cry
for a man

not even you
you,
my love

and this
is how
I start
to let you
go

This is what heartbreak does to a writer.
