Dear Grammie Genie,

Over four years ago you were by my side

Keeping up with my lengthy stride

You were here not so long ago

And your house was within a stone's throw

Then one day, I found out you were sick

And eventually you couldn't be there through the thin and the thick

It's odd how you never appreciate the people the closest to you

Until one day you realize that your time together is through

You look back and think what you could've done better

And may that's why I'm writing this letter

I can't thank you enough for being my best friend

It's not an exaggeration when I say you were there for me until the very end

It's sad to know you can't be with me today

We will meet again in heaven one day

Thank you for being such a great role model

I am finally letting my feelings escape the bottle

Love, Kara
