A hand is a
powerful tool
by humans
used to create
or destroy.

He used it to
comfort and
please, to
show me that
the world wasn't
so scary.

I forget that
with those hands
he also
destroyed who
I was before
him.

The person before,
the person who
I could look
at in the mirror
and be okay
with.
