Toothless dragons

Toothless dragons
I climbed to the heavens now I must plunge to the depths of hell.
My visions are nothing but mere delusions of an addled mind.
Or so my hearts eyes do tell.
these apparitions masquerade around as dragons
but are mere toothless worms
An anemic effort from ineffectual beings.
I just close my eyes and dream dreary dreams.

I shut my heart and let my soul surf through the cracks.
For everything's not wat it may seem.
Headless bodies shooting and sniffing crack.
I pull my teeth to unleash the truth.
I yank at their dreams to uproot bad roots.
Dream catchers by my side like Advil.
So when the pain and visions kick in
the painful apparitions they kill.
A landfill of sin fills the pathway to my heart
but through the back door in creeps the old.
Out goes my integrity.
And heart becomes sold.
Hiding my true intentions from myself so when questioned I can't lie.
Looking through the past to the future.

All I see are dead bodies and barren waste lands.
Toothless dragons and fire pits.
While above it all I watch and spit.
But still tireless and fire-less  I stand.
With this toothless dragon in my hand.
