On Top
I’ve loved too long, fallen too hard
With an open heart that shows all my scars
And I don’t believe in wearing my heart on my sleeve
It makes it hard to breathe and too easy to bleed
I said I love you, then you said it too
But the difference between us was that I didn’t lie to you
I should have known you lied but when I looked in your eyes
I didn’t see you disguise so I was caught by surprise
I heard you’re finally back on your feet
Cause you couldn’t take your final defeat
I know I cut you deep but to me it felt sweet
You had your turn on top but I pushed you off when my gun went pop
How does it feel to have the losing hand
Or can’t you see me from where you stand
When you said it was over that day
You thought I’d crawl back begging you to stay
You didn’t know you’d have it coming your way
Now I’m on top and that’s the way it’ll stay
