Topaz Rain

The fading rays of November's final sunset hovered over the white-tipped mountains of Carolina. The piercing wind whipped against a frail figure, paralyzed with the disbelief of such an occurrence. Drizzle met the hues of topaz glints, floating from the heaven's blackening eyes. A somber figure, set ablaze by the horizon's distant edge, resisting urges to reminisce his most recent discoveries. She sat in a rut on life's twisted, dusty road, swiping diamonds from the corners of her eyes. Maddening frustration entrusted such defiance, she rose and preceded in the opposite direction, with a soft smile.
