The Topic is Me
I was asked to compile
Words of description in freestyle,
But what I did not forsee
Was the topic-- Me!
Now that I think about it, how difficult can it be?
I am 18 and was born here in town.
I go to school here, but spent a semester at a school in Korea.
I was the only American student there.
Well, after classes today, I sat in the car and dreamt
of ambling down the path, transversing the small stream, maybe strolling through the tranquil extent of the forest
when I woke up half an hour later sitting in the driveway,
so I climbed up the stairs and settled at my desk
to come up with this:
Being 18, it's hard to say who I am because I am
different than you may see me as. But I am who I am
and you are who you are-- I wouldn't have it any other way!
I love the feeling I get when I am happy, excited and motivated.
I strive to be my finest and augment my knowledge.
I enjoy the simple things, like the aroma of fresh rain,
or the impeccable smile of a young child.
You could say I am like anyone else and maybe
I am in several ways, so what sets me apart?
In truth, I am an aberration--
To your standards.
But I am just "me" in my own eyes.
Although we may be the antithesis of eachother
at times, aren't you and I
truly parallel- running
alongside eachother but
never truly meeting?
We learn of each other's error
and never really know it
because you are you and I am... well, me!
Don't you agree?
