Why her? Who picks the ones who break? Who chooses which minds stay awake? A casual phrase, a passing glance— Most walk right by, but by some chance, It traps her fast. It locks her in. Anxiety claws beneath her skin. She is drowning in a shallow room, Searching for why she gets the gloom While others breathe, and laugh, and live, With nothing left for them to give To the dark questions in her head. Who chose the path that she must tread? Why just a few? Where is the line? Is it a curse, or by design? She begs the empty dark to know: Who decided she would suffer so?
