Touch of Harm
A teenager's happiness. Priceless, yet easily taken.
Harm. Easily caused.
Hands. Beneficial and important to most people.
Hearts and minds. Easily broken and corrupted.
A mistake as you call it, could be the deadliest reaction to some one else.
You said it was an accident, but my mind said otherwise.
I tried to do something about it. No one took action.
My voice, gone.
The day it happened, my mind was swirling.
Afraid, confused, upset. The emotions that surrounded me for the longest time.
Flashbacks came and went. But the pain remained.
People who knew about what happened laughed.
My confidence, self esteem, motivation, everything. Gone.
No one was able to help me. Not even myself.
Time passed by. Each day was a drag.
The pain inside me hurt each day. The experience i had to deal with haunted me.
Nightmares and "issues". No teenager should ever feel because of some else's mistake.
For a long time I hid my voice, because i felt that it was my fault.
Sadness was still by my side.
But life is short. I realized I needed to move on.
I've learned to accept what happened to me.
Because of what happened, I'm becoming stronger.
Because of you, I learned not to back down from a fall.
Because of you, I know that there are cruel people out there.
Because of me, I spent more that six months grieving my own pain.
Because of me, I am moving on. I am strong. Stronger than ever before.
My name is Belinda. Three months before my sixteenth birthday, I was touched by someone who
I thought was there to help me. My teacher.
Harm. Easily caused.
Hearts and minds. They can heal.
